Should e-scooters be allowed on our roads?

Share your thoughts and opinions about this week's story using the comments section below.

This is a difficult question, because if we have e-scooters, there are dangers but also benefits. They are eco-friendly and do not take up much space on roads, but they may not be immune to crashes and accidents. So, there are, of course, pros and cons.

Hareer - Age 10

No because it can be dangerous if they are on a busy road and a car tries to over-take them they might not go out enough and crash into them.

Niamh - Age 10

I don't think e scooters should be allowed on the roads because if a blind person was crossing the road and a e scooter came the blind person would not hear it and then get hit and if some one with a cast on there leg was crossing the road they would get hit and will get injured

Freddie - Age 9

I think that E scooters are not allowed because there might be a sharp turn and there might be a person and they might have a accident.

Faith - Age 9

I think that they should add e-scooter paths at the side of the road so nobody will get ran over and I think they should add a loud sound people won't get hurt.

Oliver - Age 9

I think that E Scooters should be allowed on roads but not at night because they are silent and at night it is dark so it may be hard to see them and hear them.

Gideon - Age 9

I don't think they should be but I do think they should be allowed on the cyclist lane.

Elinor - Age 11

We see a huge amount of benefits when using an e scooter on the roads. They are environmentally friendly and allow people to get from one place to another quickly. If they were to be allowed on our roads, it would be important to ensure that everyone used them sensibly.
